Terms of service
1. About our Service
Merry Meats provides a Christmas prepay service, allowing customers to pay weekly in instalments for Christmas food packs and add-ons, with delivery before Christmas.
Our packs are separated into:
- Non-Perishable Packs
- Meat Packs
- Optional Add-On Packs (future product)
2. Eligibility to Purchase
- Customers must be 18 years or older
- A valid New Zealand delivery address is required
- Add-on packs (future offering) cannot be purchased on their own and must be purchased with a main pack
- When a customer purchases any pack on this website they are deemed to have accepted these Terms & Conditions
3. Payments & Payment Plans
Payments are made weekly at the rate set on each respective product page.
- By purchasing a product you agree that your payment method will be charged the amount specified every week, for the number of weeks specified on the product page
- All payments must be fully completed by the cutoff payment date, which will be clearly communicated (for Christmas 2026 deliveries the cutoff date is 30 November 2026).
- All payment plans are set up so that the full amount will be paid before the cutoff date
- Missed payments may result in delays or cancellation if not resolved
We encourage customers to contact us early if they are experiencing financial difficulty — we aim to work with families where possible.
4. Non-payment & Default
If a payment is missed, we will attempt to take payment 5 times. If payments are missed and no arrangement is made:
- The order will be cancelled
- Any money you have paid to the payment plan will be refunded less a Cancellation fee
- Refunds in these cases are handled under Section 7
5. Changes to Pack Contents
- We guarantee the monetary value of every pack
- In rare cases where an item is unavailable, we may substitute it with an item of equal or greater value
- We will never reduce the value of a pack
6. Meat Pack Price Protection
- We aim to lock in meat pack prices as early as possible with our suppliers
- In the unlikely event that our supplier costs for meat packs increase by more than 10% between January and November, we reserve the right to adjust the price of affected meat packs.
- If this occurs, customers will be given the option to:
- Accept the updated price, or
- Receive a refund for the meat pack portion, or
- Switch to an alternative meat option of equal value
- Any price increase will be limited to the minimum necessary to cover supplier cost increases.
7. Cancellations & Refunds
- Customers can cancel an order and payment plan at any time before the cutoff date by logging into the customer portal or contacting Merry Meats
- Orders cannot be cancelled after the cutoff date due to the perishable nature of these products
- The cutoff date for Christmas 2026 orders is 30 November 2026
- If a customer cancels the order and payment plan, any payments to date will be refunded less a Cancellation Fee of 15% of payments made to date - to cover our costs (minimum $30).
- Cancellations take up to 5 working days to process and will be returned to the payment method used for the payment plan.
8. Delivery
- Delivery for Christmas 2026 will occur 3–5 days before Christmas, unless otherwise stated
- Customers must ensure someone is available to receive the delivery
- We are not responsible for spoilage or loss once delivery is completed
- In the very unlikely event that food is spoiled upon arrival, it is important to reject delivery and contact us straight away
- Delivery dates are estimates and may be affected by circumstances outside our control
9. Address Changes
- Any delivery address changes must be submitted by the advertised cutoff date (30 November for Christmas 2026 delivery)
- Customers can change the delivery address in the customer portal or by contacting us by phone or email
- Late address changes may not be possible
10. Add-on Packs (future offering)
- Add-on packs are optional and must be purchased with a main pack
- Add-ons are subject to availability
- Add-ons cannot be transferred to another order without approval
11. Customer Communication
- Important updates may be sent via email or SMS
- Customers are responsible for keeping contact details up to date
12. Force Majeure
We are not liable for delays or cancellations caused by events beyond our control, including but not limited to:
- Supplier shortages
- Natural disasters
- Transport disruptions
- Government restrictions
- Local or global war outbreak
13. Respectful Conduct
We serve our community with respect and expect the same in return. Abusive or threatening behaviour may result in order cancellation.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be published on our website.
